Countywide Business Recruitment Initiative

How can Columbia County be more competitive in attracting new businesses? CCET is working with local governments, utilities, local businesses, and private citizens to answer this question -- and develop a comprehensive business recruitment plan.

The project kicked off with a simulated corporate site selection process, giving CCET and all of its partners first-hand experience in competing to attract a new, major employer to the area. The process also gave us new insight as to how business exploring our area will respond to our assets, deficiencies, and organizational capacity to meet the needs of new business prospects.

CCET has also conducted a survey of community leaders to gauage how this organization can best support business recruitment activities. The next stage involves action planning with a final draft plan available for review at CCET's next board meeting on April 17.
